Hector Orcí has helped pioneer the growth and recognition of the U.S. Hispanic marketing industry while helping increase sales and profits for several Fortune 500 companies. He has been selected by Hispanic Business Magazine as one of the "100 Influentials."

In 1997, Hector was instrumental in forming the U.S. Hispanic marketing industry’s first and most influential trade organization, the Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies (AHAA), now Culture Marketing Council (CMC), and was elected its founding President.  He now serves as a lifetime Board Member and co-chairs the organization’s Communications Committee.

In 1997, Hector was recognized as an "Industry Career Achiever" and received the American Advertising Federation Diversity Achievement Award.  In 1996, Hector was inducted into the Se Habla Español Hall of Fame, one of the highest honors awarded by the U.S. Hispanic advertising industry.

For over 17 years, Hector and his colleagues at Orcí have taught "Marketing and Advertising Effectively to the Latino Consumer" for the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Extension Program.  Through the Advertising Educational Foundation's (AEF) Ambassador Program, Hector lectures every year at colleges and universities across the country.  

In 2000, The Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF), a national non-profit organization that promotes and protects the civil rights of Latinos, presented its Corporate Social Responsibility Award to Hector.  He was honored with this award for his lifetime commitment to promoting positive images of Latinos in the United States through advertising and for using the power of advertising to provide critical information to Latino consumers in the United States.

Most recently, Hector and his wife, Norma Orcí, were awarded the distinguished honor of Philanthropist of the Year by the New American Alliance. Their commitment to nurturing and affecting change within the Hispanic community continues to fuel their passion of giving-back.  In fact, over the last three years Hector and Norma have co-founded schools to support higher education through the Los Angeles Academy of Arts & Enterprise.  

Hector has taken a leadership role in Hispanic community organizations.  He serves on the board of Children’s Bureau of Southern California, New Roads School, Hispanic Business Leaders-New American Alliance, Business Practices Review Committee (BPRC) and the American Advertising Federation (AAF).

Early Years: Hector began his career at P&G, and before founding Orcí, lead account service teams at Y&R and McCann-Erickson in Puerto Rico, Mexico and the U.S.; he was CEO of DDB-Mexico and McCann-Erickson L.A. Hector holds an M.A. in Economics from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, as well as a B.A. in International Relations from USC.  Hector is a fully bilingual native of Sonora, Mexico.
