Anne Condran has been the executive director of AAF East Central Indiana since 2001. When she assumed this position, AAF-East Central Indiana was in dire need of continuity and leadership. Recognizing the challenge, Condran quickly led the Board of Directors in the arduous task of meeting its legal obligations, developing a mission statement, and revising the club’s bylaws. During the past nine years she has guided the board in moving the organization from a ‘dying club’ to a professional member trade association. In 2004, she helped establish the organization’s first five-year strategic plan and a second plan in 2009. Condran was instrumental in developing the club’s operational and financial policies, sponsorship packages, marketing initiatives, and an annual budget. Today, through Condran’s tireless efforts, AAF-East Central Indiana is a thriving organization. Membership has grown from 80 to 125. Her leadership and guidance has brought the organization local and national recognition. AAF-East Central Indiana is a shining star in the Muncie community. Since 2002 AAF-East Central Indiana has been recognized as the AAF Division 3 Club of the Year six times. Condran’s passion also flows to the AAF Chapter students at Ball State University. She helps to secure internships and employment for students throughout the country through her AAF networks. In 2009, the AAF-East Central Indiana board of directors named an annual scholarship in her honor to a student majoring in advertising at Ball State University. Condran is also dedicated to the AAF district and national initiatives. Under her direction, AAF-East Central Indiana has hosted several district conferences. She has assured the success of the District 6 ADDY Awards Competition and Condran currently serves as Secretary/Treasurer of AAF District 6. She is an integral part of the AAF national executive director’s network and has often served as a mentor to other executive directors in the AAF club network. Condran’s generosity and commitment extend beyond AAF. She has served on several civic boards and is an active volunteer at her church. She has also served on the local, area, and state Special Olympics committees and is a long-term volunteer and coach. In describing her mission statement she hopes to continue to break barriers for people with disabilities so they live, work, recreate and become fully integrated into their community.
