In August, Lois Weiland will begin her 20th year as the executive director of the Madison Advertising Federation (MAF). Her professional career started as a teacher of business education in a small town in Wisconsin. A move to Madison, Wisc. brought her to the MAF, where she became its executive director after answering a classified ad. Weiland immediately formed her management company Execu-Sec and has worked with various organizations throughout the years, including the 8th District AAF, the Middleton Chamber of Commerce, Friends of Pheasant Branch, and continues providing services to longtime client, Media Communications Association – International Madison (MCA-I) and TEMPO Madison. During her tenure, the MAF Foundation became fully funded and annually grants scholarships to students at three local colleges. A tireless advocate for MAF, Weiland also helped create Ad 2 Madison two years ago.
