Johnson & Johnson to be Inducted into 69th Annual Advertising Hall of Fame in New York

Alex Gorsky, CEO and Chairman of Johnson & Johnson, will accept the award on behalf of the company on April 24 at Cipriani Wall Street.

WASHINGTON, DC, March 1, 2018
—The American Advertising Federation (AAF) announced today that Johnson & Johnson has been elected to be the corporate inductee at the 69th Annual Advertising Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies and Gala Dinner at the magnificent Cipriani Wall Street in New York City on April 24, 2018. Alex Gorsky, CEO and Chairman of Johnson & Johnson, will accept the award on behalf of the company.

Johnson & Johnson joins an elite group of companies—only nine have been honored in the Hall of Fame's history -- that have achieved legendary reputations as global industry leaders, and whose contributions to the art and business of advertising have changed the landscape of our industry, and become a part of the broader American story.

“We’re a company that has been trusted by generations, for generations. And our advertising over the years has reflected and honored that trust—from highlighting the emotional connection between new baby and new parents, or showcasing the compassionate bond between a pediatric nurse and a child with cancer,” said Alex Gorsky, Chairman and CEO, Johnson & Johnson. “We take our ‘trustmark’ seriously, and our advertising reflects our belief that Johnson & Johnson must earn its reputation for integrity and caring among the people and communities we serve around the world—each and every day.”

“Johnson & Johnson has been a part of the American story since the 1800s. Their advertising evokes the best of who we are, the things that bind us together: community, families, parents and children, love and caring. And the company has been a forerunner in doing so, running its ads in 15 different languages in the early 1900s to reach newly-arrived immigrants, and creating in 1943 one of the world’s first statements of social responsibility for a corporation, called ‘Our Credo’, which remains on prominent display at Johnson & Johnson’s World Headquarters to this day,” said AAF President & CEO James Edmund Datri.

Johnson & Johnson will be inducted into the Hall along with eight individual advertising legends:

Kenneth I. Chenault, Former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, American Express Company; Chairman and Managing Director, General Catalyst
