Most Promising Multicultural Students Class Announced for 2018

Executives from advertising’s biggest names gathered to select 50 exceptional undergraduate seniors for AAF program.

WASHINGTON, DC, November 1, 2017
—Eight advertising industry professionals gathered at the American Advertising Federation (AAF) headquarters in Washington, DC to select the 2018 class of Most Promising Multicultural Students on October 24. This year’s judging panel included representation from BBDO, FCB Health, fluent360, Leo Burnett, LMO Advertising, Octagon, Ogilvy Washington and true[X].

The Most Promising program is part of the AAF’s Mosaic Center initiative to promote diversity and inclusion within the industry and provides a talent pipeline for organizations committed to creating change in the advertising, media and communications industries. Each year, multicultural students from the AAF’s 200 college chapters apply for Most Promising and those selected participate in a four-day industry immersion program that includes professional development workshops, company visits and a recruiters’ expo. Most Promising has become nationally recognized for helping companies discover exceptional talent, poised to become future leaders.

"The Most Promising class of students are selected from some of the most talented and diverse young people across the country. When you start with this caliber of potential, you end up with a group that will inspire the future of the industry,” says Danielle Austen, Managing Partner & CEO at fluent360 and Chair of the AAF's Mosaic Center.

Leading agencies and companies have utilized Most Promising year over year as a recruitment tool including BBDO, FCB, Google, Leo Burnett, McCann Worldgroup, Omnicom Group, Turner and Wieden+Kennedy, among many others.

Students from AAF’s college chapter network were selected through a rigorous application process that included essays, letters of recommendation, a resumé/portfolio submission and academic requirements. With an average GPA of 3.6, this year’s class represents 31 schools and 17 states across the country, including California, Hawaii, South Dakota and Utah.
