UpLyft campaign was created to help make a difference. This is a fully integrated campaign and solution to help LGBTQ+ people in need get somewhere safe, safely. First, we’ve created the UPLYFT initiative that reviews homeless shelters based on their LGBTQ+ inclusion and acceptance. Shelters that are deemed LGBTQ+ friendly are marked with the UPLYFT logo, showing what shelters in town are friendly and accepting to those who need the specific care and support that only an indiscriminate shelter can provide. Then, Lyft drivers that want to participate receive a badge with the logo to put on their car to identify them as friendly. Riders can notify the driver in-app that they are seeking a Safe Space and Lyft covers the cost of the ride. So, those in need get a free ride to a safe, accepting homeless shelter. Simple. An awareness campaign lets the target audience, at-risk or homeless LGBTQ+ youth know the capabilities of the program. These advertisements would take the form of billboards, bus shelter posters, social media ads, and television commercials, letting them know that Lyft cares about getting them somewhere safe, safely. Creating a clearly identifiable network of shelters through the Safe Space badging and awareness through the Lyft App our objective is to let the LGBTQ+ community know that Lyft is a trusted partner in their community but mostly because getting them there safe is just as important as knowing they’re safe after we leave.
