The AAF’s Karen Cohn to Receive Betty Riehl Excellence in Service Award

The American Advertising Federation will honor the Federation’s SVP of Conference & Meeting Logistics as the 2016 Recipient of the Betty Riehl Excellence in Service Award.

WASHINGTON, D.C., Apr. 25, 2016—Karen Cohn, Senior Vice President, Conference & Meeting Logistics, American Advertising Federation (AAF) was named the 2016 recipient of the Betty Riehl Excellence in Service Award early last week. The AAF is pleased to honor Karen with this award at its upcoming annual national conference, ADMERICA, in Anaheim, CA in June, recognizing her longstanding commitment and service to the AAF.

The Betty Riehl Excellence in Service Award was established to honor Betty Riehl, who was respected and revered throughout the membership for her dedication to her job, her grace, good humor and caring nature in addressing and responding to member needs throughout her career at the AAF. It was clear to the judges that, by virtue of Karen’s long tenure with the AAF and the relationships she has developed with the members, Karen embodies the spirit of the award.

Karen’s commitment to the AAF began in 1990 as Director of Conference Services after years of experience in the hospitality industry. Drawing from her experience in the hospitality industry, she has since been a driver in the success for the AAF’s many signature events with flawless execution of contract negotiations, problem-solving and conference planning. Her unwavering commitment to the AAF and capability of handling the challenges with composure and accuracy reflect the good character of Betty Riehl and make her an asset to the AAF’s programs and events.

"I am so happy with the Committee's selection of this year's Betty Riehl Award winner, Karen Cohn,” said James Edmund Datri, President and CEO, American Advertising Federation. “Karen has been an integral and central part of the AAF Team during the tenures of three AAF presidents: Howard Bell, Wally Snyder, and now me. Her dedication and commitment to the Federation is amazingly strong and long-standing. The mark of her outstanding work as our SVP for Conference & Meeting Logistics can be seen at every single one of our signature events. Congratulations to Karen for this very well-deserved honor."

Karen will be honored at ADMERICA, the AAF’s annual national conference on Sunday, June 5 at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA. Each year, the conference brings leading advertising professionals, agencies, clients, media companies and college students under one roof for education, inspiration, innovation, collaboration and celebration of the advertising industry. The conference also showcases the industry’s best work during the American Advertising Awards and Mosaic Awards, and future talent during the National Student Advertising Competition finals.
