Melony Hughes joined the American Advertising Federation (AAF) in May 2018 as the Manager for Education Services. That same year, she was promoted and continues to serve as the Senior Manager for the Mosaic Center, which houses all of the AAF’s Diversity and Inclusion initiatives such as Most Promising + Alumni, Mosaic Career Fairs, The Mosaic Awards and other inclusion efforts that provide talent development for AAF student members & unique opportunities for AAF corporate members. Melony is also the liaison to Mosaic Next Generation Leadership Council. Her work ethic, passion, and true altruistic nature at heart is what drives her desire to leave an imprint on the future advertising leaders of “today” and showcase the importance of diversity & inclusion in all spaces.
Prior to her position at AAF, she was employed at the National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation (NABEF) & The United Negro College Fund (UNCF.) In her roles and through her programming, she worked to increase training, opportunity and diversity. She has a genuine passion for technology, building authentic relationships and providing resources to ensure that the students and young professionals that she comes in contact with are adequately prepared on their professional journey.
Melony is originally from Pittsburgh, PA and moved to Washington, DC in 2015. She attended North Carolina A&T State University and Point Park University earning her Bachelor's degree in Psychology.
