Donna Farrugia is executive director of The Creative Group, a specialized staffing firm that places advertising and marketing professionals in freelance and full-time jobs. In this role, she manages operations for the firm's locations in major markets throughout the United States and Canada. Ms. Farrugia has more than 25 years of marketing, business development and management experience. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh, with a minor emphasis in systems analysis, operations research, accounting and psychology.

Mary Furlong & Associates

Mary Furlong, Ed.D., MFA's president and CEO, is a leading authority on the baby boom generation as it moves toward and beyond age 50. She has guided the offline and online 45+ market strategies of leading corporations and nonprofit organizations for more than 20 years, and her list of clients includes IBM, Johnson & Johnson, Merrill Lynch, Viacom (CBS), Advance Publications, Proctor & Gamble, Pfizer, Microsoft, regional Bell operating companies and AARP. Mary founded MFA in 2003 to help socially-and consumer-conscious companies understand the real needs of this growing market.

In addition, Mary is the Dean's Executive Professor of Entrepreneurship at Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business.

Before launching MFA, Mary founded the nonprofit organization SeniorNet in 1986 and ThirdAge Media in 1996. Throughout the course of her work for both organizations, she raised $120 million in venture capital funds, corporate sponsorships and foundation grants.

During Mary's tenure, SeniorNet served more than 500,000 adults age 50 and older. Much of her time was spent in the field at the organization's learning centers, observing the applications that worked and the issues related to the technology. ThirdAge Media reached more than 2 million members - most age 45 and older - when Mary served as its CEO and visionary leader of the editorial team.

Mary has appeared on CBS, PBS, NPR and NBC's Today show to discuss trends in aging and technology, and her expertise has been featured in The New York Times, USA Today, Business Week, Fortune, People and Fast Company, among other publications.

In 2001, Fortune Small Business named Mary one of its "Top 25 Women Entrepreneurs," and Time honored her in 1999 as one of its "Digital 50." She also served as a White House Commissioner on Libraries and Information Science during the Clinton administration, and she has conducted hearings on aging and technology for the U.S. Senate. Mary is a member of the American Society on Aging's Business Forum on Aging, the Leadership Council of the National Council on Aging and the AARP Women in Leadership group. She also serves on several corporate advisory boards.


Stuart Rosenthal

Stuart Rosenthal has been publisher and editor of the Beacon newspapers, with Greater Washington and Greater Baltimore editions, since he and his wife founded the company in 1989.

Rosenthal is a graduate of Yale Law School and Oxford University, which he attended on a Marshall Fellowship.

Rosenthal also serves as president of the North American Mature Publishers Association, the national association of newspapers for older adults, and chairs the Maryland Commission on Aging.

C. Raquel Daniels is a Sr. Media Planner/Buyer and Client Services Account Director; specializing in general market and African American marketing, promotions and advertising. Ms. Daniels currently serves as one of the lead Account Directors on Multi-Cultural Marketing and New Business Development. Her prior capacity within the organization has been as the principal Account Director on the Southwest Airlines business along with other key client business.

Prior to joining Camelot Communications, Ms. Daniels was an Independent Managing Consultant on Multicultural Marketing and Diversity Management for fortune 500 companies. Prior to consulting, Ms. Daniels was the Sr. Account Executive with PGC Advertising Agency. Before PGC Advertising, Ms. Daniels held marketing and promotions positions of increasing responsibility in the Southwest Airlines marketing department, culminating in the leadership and management of the African American Marketing efforts.

Ms. Daniels received her master’s degree in integrated marketing and strategic communications from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas.


Simon Bond, Global Head Of Business Development, Proximity Worldwide

Simon Bond is the global head of business development for Proximity Worldwide based in New York. Simon is a true internationalist having lived and worked for Proximity in Europe, Middle East & North Africa and Asia Pacific and is responsible for making sure the new business engine is well oiled and operating at its optimal levels.

In his previous role he set up Proximity/BBDO across Asia and grew the agency within 4 years to be one of the largest and most awarded networks in Asia looking after clients like P&G, Visa, Citibank, Pepsi, Mercedes Benz, GE, Mars and Air NZ.

Prior to this role Simon worked with Proximity/BBDO in London and in Dubai where he was regional director for Proximity/BBDO across Middle East & North Africa where he set up 4 offices across the region and also grew Proximity to the largest and most awarded network in the region

Simon is a true digital evangelist and contributes regularly to the advertising and digital industry in Europe, Asia and Middle East and North America by continuously speaking at industry conferences and writing articles in leading trade journals. In addition to his business interests, Simon is also a very keen sportsman regularly taking part in marathons, triathlons, adventure races and motorbike trips in far corners of the world but also enjoys the easy life of the golf course, ski slopes and the kitchen cooking up a fine meal for friends and family.


Richard M. Goehler, Partner, Intellectual Property Practice Group,

Dick Goehler is a partner in the Intellectual Property practice group of the Cincinnati office of Frost Brown Todd LLC and a past member of the firm’s Executive Committee. His practice is concentrated in the areas of media law, including digital and interactive media, advertising law, copyright and trademark, and complex intellectual property and business litigation. He represents media clients in all aspects of First Amendment and newsroom-related matters, including prepublication/prebroadcast review, defense of defamation and invasion of privacy claims, and in access to public records and meetings disputes. He handles a wide variety of constantly evolving internet, digital and interactive media issues. He also handles trademark and copyright matters and regularly counsels and advises clients on advertising review, clearance issues, and sweepstakes and promotions.

Mr. Goehler is the Immediate Past Chair of the Governing Board of the American Bar Association’s Forum on Communications Law. He is a charter member of the Defense Counsel Section of the Libel Defense Resource Center (LDRC, aka Media Law Resource Center - MLRC), and formerly the co-chair of its Advertising and Commercial Speech Committee. He has co-authored the chapter on Ohio Libel and Privacy Law for the annual LDRC/MLRC 50-State Survey since 1982. He also has given numerous presentations at local, statewide and national media law conferences and seminars, including regular newsroom seminars for his firm’s print and broadcast clients.

He is a former co-chair of the American Bar Association’s First Amendment & Media Litigation Committee and co-editor of that committee’s newsletter. He is also an active member of various professional committees, including the Board of Directors of the Student Press Law Center and the Ohio State Bar Association’s (OSBA) Media Law Committee.

Mr. Goehler is a current member of the Ohio Bar Foundation Fellows Class.

A frequent presenter at the OSBA’s annual Law & Media Conference, Mr. Goehler also teaches a media law course at Miami University, and lectures for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.

Mr. Goehler received his A.B., magna cum laude, from Miami University and his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame Law School.

Jeffrey Edelstein represents clients in all areas of advertising and marketing law. Mr. Edelstein has developed a well-earned reputation for the numerous successes he has achieved on behalf of leading companies involved in false advertising challenges before the National Advertising Division (NAD) and the National Advertising Review Board (NARB) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, the primary self-regulatory bodies of the advertising industry; the television networks; and the courts.

His practice also includes reviewing advertising for legal acceptability on behalf of many advertising agencies and advertisers; obtaining network and other media clearance; handling matters before the Federal Trade Commission; representing clients in false advertising cases; advising clients on trademark, copyright, and other intellectual property matters; and negotiating and drafting advertising and entertainment contracts.

Prior to joining Manatt, Mr. Edelstein was a partner at the New York law firm Hall Dickler Kent Goldstein & Wood, LLP.


Jeff Froud, Senior Strategic Planner, OgilvyAction

Prior to joining OgilvyAction in February 2008, Jeff Froud worked across a wide variety of fast-moving consumer goods categories, with manufacturers like Nestlé, GlaxoSmithKline & Reckitt Benckiser. His roles have included national sales, channel and category/trade marketing functions in the United States, Australia, Fiji & Papua New Guinea.

Some of the many brands he has worked on are Kit Kat, Milo, Nescafé, Nesquik, Cheerios, Panadol, Macleans, Lucozade, Ribena and Lysol.

Much of Froud’s professional experience has been gained working in many different retail channels, from supermarkets to mass merchants to warehouse clubs to convenience stores.

His primary passion is understanding the behavior shoppers exhibit on their path to purchase, which can be leveraged to develop smarter channel and point-of-purchase strategies, putting more products in more baskets more often.


Mike Kelly, Senior Advisor, Veronis Suhler Stevenson

Mike Kelly is a media advisor and investor with 28 years of operating experience at Time Warner and elsewhere. He is currently Senior Advisor to Private Equity firm Veronis Suhler Stevenson. Mike is also on the board of Eyeblaster, a leading digital advertising services company, Clearmeadow Partners, a media investment firm; Contextweb, an advertising network and exchange; and American Town Network, a local social network. From 2004 to 2007 he was president of AOL Media Networks where he spearheaded the acquisition of Advertising.com and several other digital media companies. During his tenure, advertising revenues grew from $600 million to over $2 billion.
