Manager, Digital Marketing & Content Strategy

 

Summary

This Manager of Digital Marketing & Content Strategy will be responsible for wearing multiple hats across partnerships, digital marketing, website development and communications. The individual will work with each department to develop its digital presence to promote programs and events, build overall awareness throughout the industry and identify new, integrated opportunities. This individual should possess enthusiasm for social media, knowledge of the advertising industry and strong attention to detail under pressure. The Manager should also possess the ability to create cohesive initiatives based on their knowledge of all events and programs being held both by the AAF and throughout the industry. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Website Development/Management

  • Act as an editor for all content that is added to the website.

  • Proactively maintain, add and update content on the website. 

  • Work with IT Manager to troubleshoot issues and ensure the website is always working.

  • Setup e-commerce for event registration and product sales, including marketing campaigns and follow up opportunities, for the AAF’s products and events.

Digital Marketing

  • Develop and execute integrated communications strategies that results in consistent business growth across the organization and enhances brand equity and awareness.

  • Develop and drive strategy to increase website traffic to the AAF’s website.

  • Implement and maintain SEO on all of the AAF’s websites.

  • Maintain and increase growth of the AAF's social media platforms employing both paid and organic growth strategies.

  • Oversee development of email marketing to improve efficiency and targeting with data analysis for all marketing programs, including effective financial reporting of digital spend for all company departments.

  • Provide analysis to each department on campaign performance and communicate concerns and suggestions effectively.

  • Manage day-to-day social media channels, their growth and customer service situations.

  • Identify new opportunities for blog and podcast content and spearhead execution of these initiatives. 

Partnerships/Relationship Management 

  • Assist in creating partnership agreements as it pertains to digital ad space, event presence and online content opportunities with leading media and digital brands.

  • Manage relationships with third-party internet marketing and media business partners 

  • Manage Job Bank and SmartBrief vendor relationships, subscriber acquisition and retention, along with the associated internal UBIT-project budget.

  • Spearhead webinar events, including identifying new content opportunities, negotiating contracts that generate revenue, organizing and promoting the webinar events.

  • Manage blogger relationships to support the AAF’s events.

  • Provide monthly spend for social media, search engine marketing, Google AdWords and email marketing.

PR & Communications 

  • Create tailored pitches and disseminate press materials to media outlets and contacts.

  • Expand press reach/contact lists nationally and locally within media, agency and advertising industries.

  • Develop presentations and supporting data analysis for Executive Officers and program managers as needed.

  • Build audience profiles, key messaging and KPIs for each of the AAF’s programs.

Abilities

  • Familiarity with: website administration tools (iMIS, RiSE, Wordpress, Drupal, Dreamweaver); email marketing platforms (Informz); social media tools (Hootsuite, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.); digital advertising tools (Google grants, Google Analystics, Google AdWords; retargeting/remarketing.

  • Extensive knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript and other web management programs.

  • Keeping abreast of changes in policies, programs, procedures, standards and regulations applicable to programs and projects.

  • PC usage that go beyond basic word processing.

  • Effective communication skills (written, verbal and online).

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Attention to detail/proofreading skills.

  • Experience working with non-profits in areas of digital and social.

Other Skills

  • Collaborate with fellow staff members in achieving the timely accomplishment of the organizational goals and objectives.

  • Complete other tasks as assigned.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Report directly to the VP of Creative Services.
