Judy Foston and Michael Johnson Join IAE Advisory Council
WASHINGTON, D.C., Jul. 27, 2015—Wally Snyder, Executive Director of the Institute for Advertising Ethics, announced two new members of its Advisory Council. Judy Foston, President and Founder of Foston International Inc., Houston, and Michael Johnson, Senior Copywriter, Bailey Laurerman, Omaha, joined the Council of advertising professionals and academics charged with overseeing the Institute’s planning and program initiatives.
Wally Snyder stated, “I am delighted and grateful that Judy and Michael have joined our Council. Each has been inspirational in developing and participating in the Institute’s Advertising Ethics Certificate program. Using their advice and teaching we have extended the program to local AAF federations in person and online.”
Judy Foston planned and conducted a successful ad certificate session for Houston Ad Professionals and college students last fall for the Houston Ad Federation. Michael Johnson developed an online version of the certificate session for the Omaha Ad Federation last year. They presented the planning, sponsorship opportunities, and marketing of their respective sessions to local ad fed leaders at this year’s AAF national conference in Las Vegas.
Judy Foston has served as Executive Producer for the Sammy Davis Jr., Awards - “Sammys” - benefitting the Peoples’ Workshop for visual and Performing Arts, The Wash Allen Radio and TV Shows, and the Coca-Cola Variety Celebrity Revue. She serves on the National Board of Directors for Sisters Network Inc.; Advisory Board Member, H.I.S.D. Young Women’s College Preparatory Academy; and Board Member of the NAACP – Houston Chapter.
Michael Johnson in 2010 was named one of the “4 under 40” by the Lincoln Young Professional Group. In 2014 he was part of the Omaha Chamber of Commerce Creative Task Force that created the “We Don’t Coast” brand for Omaha’s metro area, and in 2015 AAF Omaha honored him as their Ad Pro of the Year.
Judy Foston and Michael Johnson join with other leading advertising and PR professionals and academics dedicated to carrying out the Institute’s purpose of inspiring advertising professionals to practice the highest personal ethics in the creation and dissemination of commercial information to consumers.
