Founder, Creative Director at RP3 Agency
Jim has been an award-winning copywriter and creative director for 25 years. After stints at big agencies on both coasts, working on big brands like Lexus and EA Sports, he realized big wasn’t better. So in 2009, he founded RP3 Agency, with a more nimble model that gives him the freedom to explore new ground and always let the best idea win.
At RP3, he oversees a talented team of designers, writers and technologists, working on a diverse client roster including The Coca-Cola Company, Norfolk Southern Corp., Woolly Mammoth Theater Co., Children’s National Health System, Johns Hopkins Medicine and more.
Prior to RP3, Jim was Creative Director of the Washington, DC office of Arnold Worldwide, where he created integrated branding and promotional campaigns clients such as Choice Hotels International. Before that he held posts as Senior Writer at Team One Advertising in Los Angeles where he worked on national TV and print campaigns for Lexus, and Air New Zealand; and Associate Creative Director at OWN+P in San Francisco, where he helped launchsalon.com and half.com, and build EA Sports into the world’s biggest video gaming brand.
Along the way he’s been fortunate to win numerous industry awards including The One Show, Communication Arts, National ADDYs, Archive Magazine, the ANDYs, the Effies and a Cannes Gold Lion.
Jim attended Bucknell University, and the School of Visual Arts in New York and tries to keep learning through his involvement with the 4A’s, AAF and RefreshDC.
