Executive Vice President, Club Services, American Advertising Federation
Joanne Schecter joined the the American Advertising Federation national staff in 1993. As Executive Vice President of the AAF's Club Services, she oversees the success of the 200 member clubs nationwide. Joanne has extensive experience with association management and uses this background to write, manage and conduct training seminars and workshops on strategic club management. Joanne manages the AAF's club services department, which is responsible for the services and benefits available to member clubs. Joanne also oversees the success of the national American Advertising Awards competition. In addition, she is the staff liaison to the AAF's Council of Governors, National Ad 2 and the Executive Directors network. She also works closely with the AAF's National Board of Directors.
Joanne brings the member perspective to her position, in that, she first became involved with the AAF network more than 25 years ago as a member of the organization. She served on the Board of Directors for the Utah Advertising Federation, where she was elected Club President in 1988. Under her leadership, the Utah Advertising Federation was honored as the AAF Club of the year in 1989 - Joanne was subsequently named President of the Year. From 1990 to 1993, Joanne was the executive director of the Advertising Club of Los Angeles, where she managed this major market club serving more than 1200 members. In 1993 Joanne was responsible for the club taking top honors as the AAF Club of the Year.
Joanne’s professional career includes experience as Account Executive for advertising agencies Borders, Perrin and Norrander/Seattle & Salt Lake City and Harris & Love Advertising/Salt Lake City and as director of promotions and public relations for Dixon Paper Company, Salt Lake City.
